27. Sweet Magnolias

Sweet Magnolias, based on the book series from Sherryl Woods, follows three women in South Carolina as they try to figure out love, careers, and family. It stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, Heather Headley, Carson Headland, Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Justin Bruening, Chris Klein, and Jamie Lynn Spears.

While this is another show that focuses on friendship and the bond between them, it also focuses on romance as well. Maddie, played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, ends up trying to decide if she wants to be with her ex-husband, Bill, or if she wants a relationship with newcomer Cal.

The choice between the two is not easy for her. While her ex cheated on her, he’s come back to show he’s a new man and has expressed regret about what he did. That being said, she clearly likes Cal and they both have taken steps to make their relationship more serious. But is the connection there like it is with Bill?  Whoever she chooses, people will be gossiping.

If you’re looking for something easy and fun to watch with little to no stakes, Sweet Magnolias is where it’s at. You can just relax with your significant other, eat some food, and watch a show that’s not going to stress you out.

The biggest worry you’ll have is who’s going to end up with who and with the way the world is today, that can be a pretty good feeling, especially on a day about love.
