Sweet Magnolias season 2 has not started filming yet

We have some bad news for fans of Sweet Magnolias. It doesn’t appear as though production on Sweet Magnolias season 2 has started yet.

Obviously, we know that’s not what fans of Sweet Magnolias want to hear. Because Netflix shows are released about a year apart most of the time, it appeared that some fans were expecting to see Sweet Magnolias season 2 on Netflix in May 2021.

The first season of the series premiered on Netflix in May 2020, so it makes sense that fans were thinking a spring 2021 release date was possible.

As it turns out, fans of the Netflix original series will likely have to wait for much longer than that to see season 2 on Netflix.

When is Sweet Magnolias coming back?

Well, that’s the big question that everyone wants to know. Unfortunately, there’s just not much information about the series yet to know when Sweet Magnolias season 2 will premiere.

We can make a prediction about the latest season of the series, though.

According to a report from Looper, production on Sweet Magnolias season 2 is scheduled to begin sometime in “early 2021.” That could really mean any time between January and, I’d say, March 2021.

So, if that happens and production goes smoothly, which is another question mark right now, we could see Sweet Magnolias season 2 on Netflix by the end of 2021.

We can’t imagine that production will take much longer than a few months.

Then, we assume that there will be four to six months of post-production. So, that puts the Sweet Magnolias season 2 release date somewhere in the fall or late 2021. That’s pretty much the best-case scenario for fans of the series to hope for.

If the series starts filming season 2 in the next few months, we should start to see the cast post about it on social media.
