26. Firefly Lane

Firefly Lane is one of Netflix’s latest series based on a book. It’s based on the series by Kristin Hannah and follows the friendship of Tully and Kate as they meet, become best friends in 1974, and how their relationship evolves into the present day.

Firefly Lane stars Katherine Heigl, Sarah Chalke, Ben Lawson, Ali Skovbye, Roan Curtis, Yael Yurman, Jon-Michael Ecker, Beau Garrett, and Brendan Taylor.

This is another one of those enjoy the fun, happy scenes while they last because the ending is going to hurt! But Firefly Lane allows you to look at different forms of love. Whether it’s a love between friends, family, or a romantic relationship, this has all three.

While Valentine’s Day is normally for romantic relationships, the bond between friends can be just as strong. That’s what Galentine’s Day is for, after all. Tully and Kate may have their fights and betrayals but they are still devoted to each other no matter what. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

But there is also plenty of romantic love in Firefly Lane. As we’re shown the lives of Kate and Tully over the years, we see the people they dated and how it worked out and how it didn’t, healthy relationships and toxic relationships.

If you’re looking for something to watch with your friends via Netflix party on Valentine’s Day or to simply watch with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s (no judgment here!), Firefly Lane is a good choice.
