Romantic Netflix movies: The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society

The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society is based on a book of the same name by Mary Ann Schaffer and Annie Barrows. It’s set in post-World War II England, where writer Juliet Ashton is looking for inspiration for something new to write. During the war, she wrote a newspaper column under a pseudonym, but now she wants to write something of her own.

That opportunity comes when she starts exchanging letters with the residents of Guernsey, a British island that was occupied by the Nazis during the war. She eventually makes her way to the island, where she not only finds the inspiration she was seeking, but also romance with one of the islanders she was corresponding with.

Romantic Netflix movies: To All the Boys movies 

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is based on a 2014 young adult romance novel by Jenny Han of the same name. Lara Jean lives in Virginia and is a half-white, half-Korean 16-year-old who does something a little odd: she writes love letters to all of her crushes that she stores in a box.

Well, somehow the box gets discovered and all those letters find their way to the boys who were never meant to actually see them. The Netflix adaptation was so popular it sparked a sequel, To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.

To All the Boys: Always and Forever, which is based on the third of Han’s trilogy, is coming to Netflix on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021.

Romantic Netflix Movies: The Kissing Booth movies

The Kissing Booth is a teen romantic comedy that’s based on the novel of the same name by Beth Reekles. Elle and Lee have been best friends their whole lives, but will their friendship endure when Elle falls in love with Lee’s older brother, Noah? This all happens thanks to a kiss at a kissing booth that Lee and Elle have set up for a fundraiser.

Like To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Kissing Booth was also so popular it spawned sequels. The Kissing Booth 3 is set to premiere on Netflix in summer 2021.
