4. Fear Street Trilogy by R.L. Stine

The Summer of Fear isn’t upon us just yet but get ready. A trilogy of films based on the Fear Street book series by R.L. Stine will be making their way to the platform just as the summer haze begins to settle.

According to Deadline, the films–directed by Leigh Janiak–will be released a month a part. That’s good news for Stine fans, and newcomers, who want more of what the first film has to offer.

Beginning in 1994, the trilogy takes viewers to the town of Shadyside, Ohio where strange and terrifying things are happening. When a group of teens starts figuring out what’s going on, they discover the events may be connected and they may be the next victims.

Stine penned over 50 stories for the Fear Street book series, and that’s not counting its subsequent spin-offs, so if The Summer of Fear becomes a smash hit, it’s possible we may be in for more frightening tales in the future.

But for now, we’re simply excited to see Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) star in the second film of the trilogy!
