Best Netflix movies of 2021: 19. Yes Day

Release Year: 2021

Directed By: Miguel Arteta

Starring: Jennifer Garner, Édgar Ramírez, Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, Megan Stott, June Diane Raphael, Nat Faxon

Release Date: March 12

It’s impossible not to like a movie starring Jennifer Garner, and that’s just plain facts. She’s one of the few movie stars that’s genuinely likable and dazzling in any role, whether she’s kicking butt as Sydney Bristow in (the criminally underrated and should-be highly talked about throwback series) Alias or navigating a strange flash-forward as Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30. These days, we’re more likely to keep up with Garner in her pretend cooking show on Instagram, but in 2021, she’s making a return to the screen in the Netflix family comedy Yes Day.

Based on the children’s book of the same name by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld, Yes Day stars Garner and Édgar Ramírez as parents who try to survive a day of only agreeing to any request their children throw their way. Yes Day comes from director Miguel Arteta, who also directed films such as The Good Girl, Youth in Revolt, Cedar Rapids, Beatriz at Dinner and Like a Boss. Arteta also directed Garner in the 2014 Disney comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Make sure to gather the whole family for a movie night when Yes Day premieres on March 12 on Netflix.
