Netflix reveals official date The Office will be leaving the streaming service

Say it ain’t so! We’ve known for some time now that The Office would eventually be leaving Netflix for NBCUniversal’s new streaming service Peacock, but now we’re getting to the final countdown of days the series has left on the streaming service.

When is The Office leaving Netflix?

It had been announced that The Office would no longer be available on Netflix starting in 2021, but now we’ve just got the official date we’ve all been dreading. According to the platform’s list of new titles and those leaving in December, they’ve revealed that the Dunder Mifflin gang will be off the service as of December 31, 2020.

Obviously, 2020 has been a particularly difficult year for everyone, and the fact that The Office is leaving Netflix so soon is just the cherry on top! The beloved series, which ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013, certainly has the streaming service to thank for its ever-growing popularity. In 2019, it was reported that the Steve Carell-led comedy was watched more than any other series on the platform.

So what will Netflix do without the show? It looks like they’ll continue to add longtime favorites and new original titles to their lineup in hopes to keep their viewers subscribed. In December 2020, for instance, we have many exciting shows and movies to look forward to.

Along with the sad news that The Office will be leaving on December 31, Netflix also shared their full release calendar, including Big Mouth season 5, Selena: The Series, David Fincher’s Mank, and The Prom, along with many others that are highly-anticipated.
