Is The Office being removed from Netflix?

Is The Office leaving Netflix?
The Office is one of the most popular shows on Netflix. Some metrics continue to show that The Office is the top show on Netflix month after month, which is semi-surprising given Netflix’s huge library of hit TV shows.
Unfortunately, it won’t be like that for much longer. The Office is leaving Netflix.
There have been rumors and some reports that the show was leaving Netflix at various times over the last several years. While most of those rumors and reports were not true, the latest report is true and confirmed by Netflix: The Office is leaving Netflix.
I know, it doesn’t seem like it can actually be real, a Netflix without The Office. But, it is, and we’re very sorry to have to break this news about the hit show.
When is The Office being taken off Netflix?
Well, Netflix has not revealed the official date that The Office is leaving the streaming network and moving to Peacock. We do have a pretty good idea when the series will be removed from the streaming service.
Officially, the show starring Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, and John Krasinski is leaving Netflix in 2021. And, based on what we’ve read, the last day you will be able to watch the series on Netflix will be Dec. 31, 2020, also known as New Year’s Eve. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, that will be the last day to watch the series on Netflix.
Why is it leaving on New Year’s Eve? Well, many of these streaming deals are for a set number of years. In many cases, Jan. 1 is the day that those deals start, and then Dec. 30 is the date that those deals expire.
It’s not always like that.
As soon it’s officially 2021, probably in the Pacific Time Zone, the hit series will leave the streaming service and move to a different streaming service likely on Jan. 1, 2021.
When is The Office coming to Peacock?
If you want to continue streaming The Office, you can!
The series is moving to the new NBC streaming service, Peacock, in 2021. Most likely, you will be able to watch the series on Peacock beginning Jan. 1, 2021.
There’s a chance there could be a little gap or something, but I don’t think that will happen for this show. I’d expect it to be available on Peacock the second the series leaves Netflix.
We’ll let you know the official date the series will leave Netflix and join Peacock. Stay tuned for when Netflix announces that later this year.
