We’ve seen the standard courtroom drama for decades, but we haven’t seen anything like the Australian series Rake which gives us criminal lawyer Cleaver Greene (Roxburgh) who defends the indefensible. There’s not a case he won’t take, even if that means defending a cannibal.

Then again, Greene is no prince himself as a misogynistic drunk who will use anyone and everyone if necessary to suit his interests. Now doesn’t that just sound like all lawyers? What’s great though is you root for Greene who plays the role of the anti-hero with the rest of the cast so shallow and just general terrible human beings.

He’s a terrible person, but in Rake, you dig it.
