Alias Grace premiered on Netflix in late 2017 with six episodes. The series follows Grace Marks (Gadon) at various points of her life. She grew up poor in Ireland, lost her mom at a young age and her father was a certifiable creep. She left home, after her father forced her out, and relocated to Canada where she found work as a maid/cleaner/servant for the rich Thomas Kinnear and his housekeeper Nancy Montgomery (Paquin) but she finds herself in a mess of trouble.
Grace is arrested and sentenced to life for the double murder of Kinnear and Montgomery while her fellow home worker James McDermott (Logan) was hung for his crimes. Throughout all of this, Grace maintained zero knowledge or any memory of the double murder. This leads to her being examined by Dr. Simo Jordan (Holcroft) to determine if she is legitimately suffering from mental illness that would preclude her from having these memories or if she’s lying and playing everyone.
The six episodes were entirely gripping and addicting but it was a limited series so there won’t be any more episodes.
