A list of 10 Netflix shows delayed or canceled because of the pandemic

It’s safe to that 2020 has been a very weird year for TV and movie production. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, TV and film production around the globe has caused major delays for shows and movies, including all those Netflix shows and movies you know and love.

Obviously, the production shutdown has created some major delays for some Netflix shows, including some of the most popular shows from the streaming network. Other Netflix shows have been canceled because of the situation.

Filming on many of those Netflix shows is starting up again soon, so we shared a list of 10 good Netflix shows delayed or canceled because of the pandemic.

Let’s get the list started with the biggest of the Netflix shows, Stranger Things.

Good Netflix shows delayed: Stranger Things season 4

Stranger Things season 4 started filming in early 2020 with the goal of an early 2021 release date on Netflix. Unfortunately, that’s not happening now.

About a month or so in to filming, Netflix shut down production on season 4, and the cast and crew have not started filming the new season yet, as of early September. Finn Wolfhard said they were ahead of schedule on season 4, so that’s the good news.

Production is scheduled to begin in September 2020, and based on the prior timeline, there are about four or five months remaining on season 4 production. If the cast and crew get back at it. soon, we should see Stranger Things season 4 in late 2021.

Any further delays will bump the season back to 2022.

Good Netflix shows delayed: The Witcher season 2

Like Stranger Things season 4, The Witcher season 2 had just started production in England when everything was shut down for several months.

The Witcher star Kristofer Hivju tested positive for the coronavirus, which was one of the other reasons why production on the second season was stopped. Luckily, Hivju is okay now.

The cast and crew returned to England to resume production on season 2 in August. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait a long time to see the new season. The Witcher season 2 was not coming to Netflix in 2020 anyway, but the lengthy delay should push things back into late 2021.
