Stranger Things season 4 scheduled to resume filming this month

Stranger Things season 4 is expected to start filming in September
Stranger Things season 4 is scheduled to resume production on Sept. 17, 2020.
The filming restart date was reported by The Hollywood Reporter in July. Although we haven’t heard the official word that production is scheduled to begin on that day, the fact that we haven’t heard that filming on Stranger Things season 4 is getting delayed is a good sign that everyone is trying to make it work.
A few Netflix production have already started filming, including Outer Banks, which is filmed in South Carolina. Because of the proximity to where Stranger Things films, in Georgia, we have to assume that’s a good sign that Stranger Things will get the go-ahead to start production soon.
There are more coronavirus cases and deaths from COVID-19 in Georgia than there are in South Carolina, and that will likely be a factor in the decision to move forward with production.
Another Netflix production, Red Notice, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds, is getting ready to start filming in Georgia this month, as well. So, that’s another good sign for Stranger Things fans hoping season 4 will start filming again soon.
There was a recent casting call for extras for Stranger Things season 4. That’s usually a good indicator that production is going to start soon.
As far as we know, the plan is to resume production later this month, but we haven’t seen the official announcement from Netflix or any of the cast yet.
Maya Hawke, who stars as Robin in the Netflix series, recently commented on the start of production. Hawke said that everyone is hoping to get back soon, and it was looking “incredibly likely” that production would resume in September. Although Hawke didn’t say it specifically, her comments seemed to imply that there was some doubt that they’d be able to resume production in September.
Obviously, there are so many moving parts and things happening behind the scenes to make sure everyone is healthy and it’s safe to resume production. I’m sure the producers are working with the various unions to come up with a plan to film and keep the cast and crew safe.
We’re still hoping that Stranger Things will be able to start filming season 4 in the near future, and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we find out more information about production.
If the cast and crew are able to get started soon, there’s a good chance we’ll get to see Stranger Things season 4 next year, assuming there are no further delays.
