Babies is a fascinating look at various issues babies and parents face throughout the first year of life. It’s a year full of challenges and a lot of fun.

The series premiered on Netflix in February, and at the time, six episodes were released. Those episodes focused on those first few minutes and weeks after a baby is born, the magical qualities of milk, sleeping, talking and more.

Then, Netflix added six more episodes of the series in July. Those episodes focused on the movement, mental capacity, senses, relationships, and becoming toddlers.

If you want to learn more about babies, especially from a scientific perspective, Babies is the docuseries for you!

Best Netflix documentaries: 17. Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez

Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez was one of the first big documentaries of the year. The series premiered in January.

The series focuses on the life of Aaron Hernandez, the former Florida Gators and New England Patriots star football player, from his early days through his time in the NFL. Hernandez was convicted of murdering Odin Lloyd, a friend and the boyfriend of Hernandez’s girlfriend’s sister. Hernandez died by suicide in his prison cell.

While not necessarily a must-watch for sports fans, the docuseries does a good job of trying to understand why Hernandez did what he did. After his death, it was discovered that Hernandez had CTE, the brain disease that many former professional football players suffer from.
