There are a bunch of new Netflix documentaries to watch on Netflix right now!

Overall, it’s been a great year for Netflix documentaries and docuseries. To help you find a new documentary to watch on Netflix right now, we shared a list of the 20 best Netflix documentaries of the year so far.

We’ll continue updating the list every week and as new documentaries are added to the streaming service.

After you finish all this list, make sure you check out the running lists of the best Netflix shows and best Netflix movies of the year so far.

Best Netflix documentaries: 20. Fear City: New York vs The Mafia

Fear City: New York vs The Mafia premiered on Netflix in July, and it quickly jumped to the top of the Netflix Top 10 list before being replaced by The Kissing Booth 2.

The series focuses on the Five Families, who responsible for almost all of the organized crime in New York City, and the FBI investigation to take them down.

For those who don’t know, the Five Families are the Gambino, Colombo, Bonanno, Lucchese, and Genovese crime family.

There are only three episodes in this docuseries, so it’s a rather quick binge-watch.

Best Netflix documentaries: 19. Down to Earth with Zac Efron

Down to Earth with Zac Efron is a must-watch travel docuseries on Netflix. The series, which premiered on Netflix this summer, follows Efron and health guru Darin Olien around the globe as they visit places that encourage healthy living and sustainability.

The locations they visit are Iceland, France, Costa Rica, Sardinia, Lima, Puerto Rico, London, and Iquitos. In each episode, they visit with locals, eat great food, tour factories and other facilities, and meet with scientists who all have the goal of promoting overall health and sustainability.

I really enjoyed this docuseries. It’s more for entertainment than anything, but it’s cool to see the efforts around the globe to live healthier and take care of the planet and animals.
