It sounds like Ozark season 4 is already happening at Netflix!

Netflix has not officially announced the news. According to a report from What’s on Netflix, Netflix has already renewed Ozark for season 4. While the report does not name the source, the source has been correct about Netflix renewal news in the past.

UPDATE 6/30/2020: Netflix officially announced the Ozark season 4 renewal. Unfortunately, it will be the final season of the show, and the season will be split into two parts. 

Overall, it shouldn’t be shocking that Ozark season 4 is already in the works. I consider Ozark to be one of the Netflix shows that has a standing renewal. As long as the creative team wants to keep making new seasons, Netflix should let them do that.

Ozark season 3 premiered on the streaming in March 2020, and it was a massive hit. The new season is probably one of the most-watched seasons on Netflix so far this year, although we don’t know the exact figures. Where season 3 ended, along with that massive fan presence, seemed to indicate that Ozark season 4 would be happening soon.

It’s interesting that Netflix has not confirmed the new season of one of its most popular and best shows. I think it likely has to do with production delays and trying to figure out all the behind-the-scene details before officially confirming the season. Unfortunately, the report did not mention when Ozark season 4 would begin production or when we can expect to see the new season.

Based on what’s happening in the world regarding COVID-19 and all the production shutdowns, it’s probably likely that Ozark season 4 will not start production until fall 2020 at the earliest. But, because of the seasonality of this show, it’s probably more likely that production wouldn’t start until spring 2021.

Then, the Ozark season 4 release date would likely be sometime in early 2022. Unfortunately, with everything going on with film and TV production, that’s probably the best-case scenario.
