All of the Netflix shows renewed for new seasons in 2020

Which Netflix shows have been renewed for new seasons in 2020? We shared the full list of Netflix shows that have at least another season in the works!

Netflix has a reputation for canceling shows too soon. While Netflix has ended more than a few shows prematurely, I think if viewers took a closer look at the situation, Netflix is responsible for far more renewals than cancellations.

Of course, all shows come to an end eventually, but there are far fewer Netflix shows that end after one season than multiseason Netflix shows.

UPDATE (July 31, 2020): Netflix has announced a bunch of renewals lately, including Outer Banks, Sweet Magnolias, The Dragon Prince, The Last Kingdom, Money Heist, Virgin River, and more.

Overall, the network is bringing life to a number of shows that have been rejected at other networks, and once those shows are popular, Netflix is renewing them for two, three, four and five seasons.

By our unofficial tally, Netflix has announced the renewals of nearly 20 shows. That’s a few more than they’ve canceled so far this year.

You season 3 is one of the biggest renewal of the year so far. Netflix announced that renewal back in January. We also saw Raising Dion season 2 confirmed in January as well.

In February and March, Netflix went on a bit of a renewal spree, and renewed Love is Blind for two more seasons, Locke and Key for a second season, Sex Education for season 3, and Atypical for a fourth and final season.

Netflix also just announced Lucifer was renewed for season 6, which will be the final season of the series. Netflix also renewed Dead to Me and Ozark for the final seasons of each show, as well.

The Last Kingdom was just renewed for season 5! It’ll probably be quite a while until we see the new season on Netflix, though.

Unfortunately, there are a number of shows that were released in late 2019 and early 2020 that we’re still waiting to hear about. Hopefully, those Netflix shows will be renewed for another season. And, there’s a strong chance that Netflix has already confirmed renewals for a number of those shows that they haven’t announced publicly.

There are reasons for doing that, including getting that ball rolling behind the scenes and surprising fans at a later date. It gives a little more buzz to a series that might have been out of the news for a few weeks. Plus, renewals take a lot of time. There’s usually a lot of negotiations with creators, production companies, studios, etc. that can slow these things down.

Keep in mind, this list is not all of the renewed Netflix shows that will premiere in 2020. We’re keeping track of that in a different place.

Below, you’ll find all the Netflix shows renewed for another season this year. The most recent renewals are at the top of the list, while the earlier renewals are at the bottom.
