Sex Education season 3 has been delayed amid the coronavirus pandemic. Netflix has not announced when production will start again.
Unfortunately, Sex Education season 3 will miss its planned production start time due to the coronavirus pandemic across the globe.
According to Deadline, season 3 was set to start production this May in Wales, but with the social distancing measures being extended for at least another three weeks, the Netflix drama sensation will start production later than expected.
Sex Education season 2 was released back in January of this year and received high reviews as expected.
It didn’t take long for Netflix to announce that Sex Education had been renewed for another season. They released a short teaser video back in February announcing the renewal for season 3.
We heard reports since then that May was the expected time production would start and now it looks like that will be altered to a later date.
The Witcher, which is also filming in the U.K, had stopped their production as well, along with other top shows on the streaming service such as Stranger Things 4.
Fans across the world are obviously worried that this delay could affect the release date for Sex Education season 3. We are going to have to sit back and wait to see what happens.
Based on the timeline of the past two seasons, Sex Education season 3 was expected to be released in January 2021.
It is understood that Netflix is working in-house and with third-party producers to come up with a safe and responsible plan to resume production safely. A huge part of that decision lies in the U.K. government’s hands.
We’ve been dealing with the coronavirus for only months and there are still many things we don’t know, so it would be irresponsible to speculate on anything beyond that.
Once Netflix releases any information on Sex Education season 3, we’ll be sure to let you know.
