Outer Banks star Chase Stokes nearly played Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story

Outer Banks star Chase Stokes was almost cast as Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. 

According to a report from Cinema Blend, Stokes revealed the news that he was nearly Han Solo in the Star Wars spinoff in an interview with BuzzFeed. Alden Ehrenreich eventually was cast in the film and did a great job, although the film was considered to be disappointing by many.

In the Netflix original series, Stokes stars as John B, who is the main character in the teen, treasure-hunter drama. I think it’s easy to say Outer Banks would have looked a lot different without Stokes, and that’s probably what would have happened if he’d been cast as Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. 

John B was, pretty much, the rope that kept the foursome together over the course of the season, although he almost broke up the band on more than a few occasions.

I was really impressed with the young cast of Outer Banks. Stokes is joined by Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Rudy Pankow in the series, and the young group had excellent chemistry. It made the story feel more believable and more real, although the show was a little on the soapy side at times.

If we get our wish, Outer Banks will be renewed for season 2 in the near future. Netflix has not renewed the series for season 2 yet, but we’re confident the series will be renewed for a second season any day now. We’re expecting four or five seasons of Outer Banks on Netflix.

The first season ended with John B and Sarah heading for the Bahamas to steal back the treasure after their boat capsized while they were evading authorities during the big storm. That’s no way to end a series, and we can’t wait to see what’s next in the new season.
