It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and no, we’re not talking about Christmas. Although, it does feel like Christmas when all of the latest seasons of The CW’s shows start streaming on Netflix. That’s right, it’s May again, which means most of The CW’s shows are signing off for the season (almost all prematurely) and those seasons will make their way to Netflix one week later. Supergirl joins a whole host of fan-favorite shows streaming this month, which will offer loyal fans a chance to rewatch and cord-cutters a chance to catch.

In the fifth season of Supergirl, which celebrated its landmark 100th episode, picks up in the aftermath of the season 4 finale, as Kara (Melissa Benoist) deals with the truth of her secret identity falling into the wrong hands. The season also features the first part of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event with Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow. Season 5 also explores technology and its effects on society while also welcoming a group of exciting new characters who have given Supergirl and its characters fresh friends and foes.

Supergirl first premiered on The CW in 2016 after airing its first season on CBS the year before. Since then, it’s been a staple on the network and in the Arrowverse. While the season had been scheduled to span 22 episodes like usual, the season will actually end with 19 episodes due to production shutting down for the coronavirus pandemic. With the season ending on May 17, we can estimate season 5 of Supergirl will begin streaming on Memorial Day, but stay tuned for an official date.
