25. Patton Oswalt: I Love Everything

Release Year: 2020

Starring: Patton Oswalt, Bob Rubin

Release Date: Tuesday, May 19

Netflix must know we’re in the need for some humor because they have doubled down on comedy specials. Between Hannah Gadsby, Jerry Seinfeld and Kimmy Schmidt, we’re in for an embarrassment of comedy riches this May. But the rich only get richer. Patton Oswalt also debuts his third Netflix comedy special this month, making for four consecutive weeks of specials to cater to our thirst for laughter. Here to cure out pre-summer doldrums, Patton Oswalt: I Love Everything helps us manifest that title into reality and ranks as one of the month’s best new additions.

Patton Oswalt returns with his signature wit intact and sharpened to a fine point in I Love Everything. The brand-new set finds the comedian finally embracing being in his fifties through hilarious yet existential stories from his life. Oswalt covers funny happenings like missing out on an opportunity to go inside a life-size Millennium Falcon for his daughter’s second grade art show and the aspect of buying a house that’s similar to hiring a “suicide squad of subcontractors.” The jokes are flying faster than the Millennium Falcon, and they’re sure to be honest and relatable.

Patton Oswalt: I Love Everything follows Oswalt’s two previous Netflix comedy specials, 2016’s Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping and 2017’s Patton Oswalt: Annihilation. The formed earned the comedian an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Netflix advises sticking around after the credits for another hourlong comedy special Bob Rubin: Oddities & Rarities presented by Patton Oswalt. Obviously, it’s a two-for-one comedy special surprise with double the laughs. Make sure to check out Oswalt’s brand-me stand-up special with a bonus special when it begins streaming on May 19.
