Following Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why has been a roller coaster of a ride! To say the controversial series has had its ups and downs is an understatement. In 2020, 13 Reasons Why will premiere its fourth and final season, closing the chapter to a journey that has had its fair share of questionable moments.

Make no mistake, however, 13 Reasons Why had one of the highest number of views on the streaming giant, despite the criticism and feedback it constantly received from critics and audiences. 13 Reasons Why held on to the title of the most-watched series on Netflix for several weeks during its latest season (and previous chapters, as well).

The third season gave viewers a lot to talk about, but, for once, the main focus was not the topic of shootings or suicide, but a character (Ani Achola) that simply failed to connect with audiences. Other than that, many have commented that 13 Reasons Why has done a great job correcting some of the mistakes and failures from previous seasons.

Season 1 was accused of glamorizing suicide and covering teen uses as if it weren’t a big deal, including rape. Season 2 took events a little more seriously, as did season 3. Knowing that, there’s hope that the fourth and final season will keep it going to provide fans with a proper conclusion.
