The final season of Marvel’s Runaways premieres in a couple of days, and it’ll presumably be the last time we see these young heroes onscreen. Here’s what to expect from their upcoming adventure.

If you’ve been keeping up with all the trailers for Marvel’s Runaways Season 3, then you know a major crossover is happening. Cloak And Dagger’s Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) are about to drop into their universe, and the confrontation is bound to get fans talking. No one knows how the encounter will play out but a team-up seems certain.

Unfortunately for the Pride Kids, they have several other threats to be concerned about in season three. For one, they still have a group of hostile alien invaders to deal with. The Gibborum are making their stake on Earth and they intend to feast on whoever they need to survive, which includes the three captives currently in stasis.

Warning! Spoilers ahead.

For anyone who doesn’t recall, season 2 ended with Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin), Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner), and Janet Stein (Ever Carradine) being taken. The New Jonah (James Marsters) and his Gibborum brethren briefly spoke about consuming their life-force before the season closed out. We don’t know if it’ll come to pass, though glimpses at Pride placing Gert Yorkes (Arielle Barer) into one of Jonah’s tubes suggests that she’ll be sacrificed instead.

On the other end of the life and death spectrum, Marvel’s Runaways is getting a new addition in the form of an alien hybrid. Leslie Dean (Annie Wersching) is pregnant with a child that is clearly alien in origin, who may or may not play a pivotal role in the coming battle. Further evidence can be found in the luminescent purple glow coming from her stomach.

What’s interesting is the pregnancy appears to be sped up as well. Glimpses at Leslie in season three depict her with a very large stomach. This gives us the impression that Mrs. Dean will be giving birth quite soon. Though the question remains: What kind of alien will arise?

Seeing as how Leslie Dean is giving birth to another Hybrid — just like her daughter Karolina — there’s no telling what’ll come out. It’s possible a humanoid will be born, of course, it’s just as plausible for the unborn child to be a chip off of the Magistrate’s block.

Apart from the alien element on Marvel’s Runaways, a supernatural force is on the way as well. Morgan la Fey (Elizabeth Hurley) is set to make her grand introduction in season three, bringing with her a powerful wave of dark energy. Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano) is the first to sense the opposing witch’s arrival, but she’s not the only one.

As previous trailers for Marvel’s Runaways Season 3 have shown, Tandy and Tyrone will drop into the Hostel at one point. Their exact reasoning for showing up is unknown, but from what we can tell, they’re addressing a disturbance in the Multiverse. This could be caused by either Nico or her new rival, though our money is on Morgan la Fey.

Regardless of who’s responsible, a large enough disruption in the natural order of things will undoubtedly draw the attention of much more powerful individuals. We’re of course referring to Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). He’s about to have an adventure in the Multiverse and making a stop by the Runaways’ world isn’t all that farfetched.

Marvel’s Runaways Season 3 begins streaming on Dec. 13, 2019.
