New on Netflix this week: GLOW, Jane the Virgin, and more

There’s plenty of movies and shows new on Netflix this week. With new seasons of both Netflix and network shows, there is something for everyone.

Wondering what’s new on Netflix this week? Well, you’ve come to the right place. This week brings a ton of new content to the streaming service. Everything from Netflix Originals, to fan favorites from network TV to a callback from the 90s.

Starting Aug. 9, GLOW fans don’t have to wait for a new season any longer. The third season of the women’s wrestling comedy drama is finally back and it looks like the ladies are headed to Vegas!

The women of GLOW will not only be performing in sin city but they’ll also be doing plenty of gambling as well. But just because they have everything they thought they wanted, doesn’t mean their lives are perfect.  Geena Davis is guest starring as entertainment director of the casino they will be performing at.

If that’s not your thing, the fifth and final season of Jane the Virgin is hitting Netflix Aug. 8. Not only did it turn out that Michael was alive after the events of season 4 but he also is going by Jason because he has amnesia! This is a telenovela after all.

Jane tries to relive her past with Michael to trigger his memories into turning back. But as it looks like Michael/Jason won’t get his memories back, Jane decides to move on with her life. If you didn’t watch the final season when it aired, now’s the perfect time.

If you’re more in the mood for some nostalgia, the long-awaited Rocko’s Modern Life movie, titled Static Cling, is making its way to Netflix on Aug. 9. Apparently, Rocko and his friends had been floating around in space for the past 25 years, but are finally back! Now in the 21st century, Rocko, Heffer, and Filburt must acquaint themselves with everything that has changed over the 2 decades they’ve been gone. Rocko is not pleased.
