Money Heist has robbed Stranger Things’ No. 1 spot to become the most binge-watched series on Netflix.

Well, that was surprising! I did not expect Stranger Things to hold the throne for such a short period of time. After all, it is arguably one of the most popular series on Netflix, right along with Orange is the New Blackwhich will surely steal the No. 1 spot from Money Heist next week.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit, I have never watched the crime drama. It just never called my attention, but you bet I’ll be tuning in now because apparently Money Heist is an amazing series.

Money Heist is a Spanish TV series which sees the first two seasons follow the preparations for a multi-day assault on the Royal Mint of Spain. The latest season tackles a robbery on the Bank of Spain and is supposed to be the most action-packed season yet, which may explain why fans rushed to watch this one.

Despite being kicked out of the top spot, Stranger Things did not perform too badly for its third week, scoring 6.91% binge sessions and settling for second place. To compare, though, Lucifer dominated TV Time’s Binge Report for eight consecutive weeks, breaking a record as the series to hang on to No. 1 the longest.

Though not many popular shows debuted on Netflix during Lucifer‘s reign, it’s still a very impressive run. It’s even more admiring how it is claiming No. 3 while newer programs have enjoyed a one or two week stay and left the top 10 entirely.

Will Stranger Things recover and reclaim No. 1? That’s highly unlikely with Orange is the New Black premiering its final season this weekend.

Finally, the other Netflix series spotted on the top ten is Dark, which sits at No. 7 this week.
