After a long wait, the first trailer for The Witcher is finally here. Get your first look at the Henry Cavill-led fantasy series on Netflix.

Hearing that Netflix had picked up The Witcher to series was excellent news. But it’s been relatively quiet since then. San Diego Comic-Con promised to bring us some extra news with the Netflix panel that featured two of the streaming service’s upcoming fantasy shows. The panel certainly didn’t disappoint.

The first trailer for The Witcher is now officially out, and it’s far more than we could have ever hoped for. This isn’t just a quick glimpse at Henry Cavill as the lead character. We get to know a great deal about the various creatures in the universe and the growing war between all.

Check out the trailer for The Witcher below before we get into more details. I’ll state right now that I’m highly impressed with the graphics and it leaves me needing more, which is more than I can say for a certain Netflix original movie trailer recently.

For those who don’t know anything about the game and book series this Netflix original is based on, more details were shared during the SDCC 2019 panel. the Man of Steel star, Cavill, shared that witchers are young boys taken, usually by witches, when they’re young. They left to fend for themselves but trained in agility and endurance. After chemical trials, they become mutants and most of the children don’t survive.

There’s still no date for the release of the series. Back in April, we got the hint that it would come in the last quarter of the year. We had hoped there would be news at SDCC about The Witcher‘s release date. However, the trailer will have to suffice for now.
