The Witcher is coming to Netflix in December: Report

According to reports, the Netflix original series The Witcher starring Henry Cavill is coming to Netflix in December 2019. Netflix has not announced the official release date.

It sounds like The Witcher starring Henry Cavill is getting a December release date on Netflix. According to a report from What’s on Netflix, The Witcher is scheduled to be released on Netflix in December 2019.

Netflix has not officially announced the release date for the series, so we have to take these reports as unconfirmed news. We had heard that The Witcher is coming in the last three months of the year, though. Netflix did announce that news in its latest earnings report.

The report cites an Instagram post from someone who worked on The Witcher. In the post, @J_Peer_Norton claims the show is getting a December release. There are also rumors The Witcher will be released on Dec. 20, 2019, according to the report.

December is a great release month for this series, especially if they release the first season around Christmas. There is always competition for eyeballs around the holidays, but with many people on vacation or off work for the holidays, it’s a great time to drop a new show or movie.

There’s a reason Stranger Things 3 is coming on July 4, and that’s because a lot of people have time off to watch the series.

We’re hoping this report is true and The Witcher hits the streaming service at the end of the year, but I would also be happy if they released the series a few months early. This show seems like a slam dunk to me, and I think it has potential to be Netflix’s Game of Thrones. 

Netflix, likely, will not announce the release date for the series for a while. We’re still six months+ from the release date of The Witcher, if it is coming December. Because there’s so much interest about the series, we could learn more about it and its release date later this summer.

San Diego Comic-Con is in the middle of July, and hopefully, The Witcher will be there. If so, that’s when we could find out the release date and a lot more information about what will be one of Netflix’s big shows. That’s all up in the air at this point, so stay tuned for more information.
