Criminal just became must-watch TV as the Netflix crime drama will star Hayley Atwell and David Tennant during its British installments.

It’d be criminal to miss Criminal, as the upcoming Netflix original series just added two heavy hitters to its cast.

David Tennant (Good Omens, Doctor Who) and Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter, Conviction) will star in the UK episodes of the anthology series, which tells a dozen different stories that are set entirely inside interrogation rooms around the world.

This week’s cast announcement didn’t reveal anything about their characters, but it really didn’t need to. Tennant and Atwell are great gets for the show. He was critically acclaimed for his work as DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, and has also played a terrific villain in other works like Netflix’s Jessica Jones.

Atwell is best known as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also delivered a great performance as police officer Denise Woods in the ITV drama Life of Crime. Both she and Tennant can play either side of this equation—and they’ll both do so fantastically.

They’ll be joined in the UK stories by Nicholas Pinnock, who’s been portraying the title character’s husband Jason Backland in the ITV crime drama Marcella, so he’s no stranger to the genre either.

The only shame is, because the series is 12 episodes and also features installments from France, Germany, and Spain, it sounds like none of them will be in the same episode together. There are three stars, and presumably, three episodes will be devoted to each country.

We could be entirely wrong, though—and hopefully, we are, because the idea of Tennant, Atwell and Pinnock all in the same room together already has us on the edge of our seats. Especially as the concept of Criminal means it takes place entirely in the interrogation room, that’s the perfect setup for some top-notch character-driven drama, and these three actors will definitely deliver.

You can see who will be appearing in the French, German and Italian episodes here. The series doesn’t have a specific premiere date; the teaser released this week just says “this autumn,” so it will at least be later this year.
