Everything Sucks

Everything Sucks was another beloved show to get the ax at Netflix. The Netflix original series premiered on the streaming service in the spring of 2018, and it was canceled shortly after. This show was the show, I think, that proved Netflix’s change in strategy.

Before Everything Sucks, Netflix was renewing all their original shows for season 2, so it was pretty surprising this series was not renewed for season 2.

The series tells the story of a group of high school kids trying to figure out life in the 90s in a small town in Oregon. It was nostalgic for many viewers, and it was a really interesting show geared toward younger audiences. Unfortunately, we never got to see how this story continued.

Netflix, later, shared some information about why this series was not renewed for season 2. Basically, the audience wasn’t big enough. That was one of the reasons. But, Netflix also considers how many people finish the season after they start watching.

According to the streaming network, there were a lot of people who started the series, but they never finished the first season. That signals to Netflix that they were somehow unhappy with the series. And, that’s why, for the most part, Everything Sucks was canceled.
