7. Lizzie finds Charlotte

Lizzie returns to the institution with a stump at the end of her right arm. Anton looks at her in horror and disgust, demanding to know what happened to her arm. It’s sad and obvious Anton no longer cares about Lizzie now that she’s “useless” to him.

Nonetheless, Anton takes Lizzie inside where she tells him what happened. She tells Anton that the police can’t do anything about what Charlotte did to her because it was Lizzie who took the pills willingly and cut her own arm off. And besides, Charlotte has fled the country.

This is another moment of confusion for viewers. Why would Charlotte leave? Is Charlotte truly so evil that all she wanted to do was destroy Lizzie’s life, not replace her? It’s strange. But if you thought things were interesting now, the ride was only beginning.

It’s not easy, but Lizzie decides to forget all about Charlotte and move on with her life at the institution. Anton, however, has different plans — kick Lizzie out. Lizzie begs to stay, insisting she can still be useful and teach others.

Desperate, Lizzie even offers to scrub the toilets so long as she has a room in the school. Anton’s mind is made, though. Furious, Lizzie sets out to find Charlotte. Once she does, Lizzie beats Charlotte and brings her to Anton.

We’re not sure why Lizzie does this. What could Anton want with Charlotte? Prepare for another twist!
