Grey’s Anatomy pulls out all the dramatic stops ahead of its season 15 finale.

Grey’s Anatomy is really trying to give us a panic attack, isn’t it? So much went down in this week’s episode, “Drawn to the Blood” that we need a moment to process it all. Let’s start with Jo, first. Meredith makes it her mission to get Jo to talk about what’s been going on with her, and eventually, she does.

It makes sense that it would be Meredith considering all the things she’s been through over the years–her parents, losing Derek, and of course, the version of Meredith we all would like to forget. The scene between Jo and Meredith is emotionally jarring as Jo confesses what’s been going on by asking Meredith point-blank if her trauma is anything like hers. However difficult this conversation went on to be, Jo finally decides to face her problems head-on, and talk to Bailey and Alex.

Unfortunately, Alex was preoccupied with a dilemma of his own in trying to find a blood donor for Gus. Of course, the blood donor they find has to fly in from London and is extremely agoraphobic. When Schmitt arrives at the plane, the donor’s therapist is there with her trying to ease her down the plane’s steps. But before they can safely make it to the car, the therapist is taken away by immigration, leaving Schmitt to deal with her.

He’s not very successful in doing so which requires Owen to come down and help him out. Side note: This week’s Grey’s Anatomy episode was directed by Kevin McKidd–and he did an amazing job!

Owen doesn’t really get through to the patient at first either until he has the donor FaceTime with Gus and his mom to see just how bad Gus’ condition is. I think that is a pretty ridiculous guilt trip, and not cool to do to someone who is clearly struggling. In either case, it ends up working.

Of course, Seattle’s weather gets in the way and fog overwhelms the city causing traffic. This doesn’t bode well for someone who is agoraphobic and thousands of miles away from her home.

Matters only get worse when while in standstill traffic, cars begin to crash around them because of the intense fog. Oh my, Grey’s Anatomy, you’re really toying with our emotions here.

In all of this chaos, Teddy goes into birth just as she is professing her love for Owen to Amelia. She doesn’t want safe like she has with Koracick, she wants to feel passion and rage like she does with Owen. Poor Koracick, he’s been so head over heels for Teddy, I don’t think I want to see his heart shatter into a million pieces when he finds out.

Amidst all this chaos, Maggie and Jackson are off camping so Maggie can get a taste of Jackson’s world. I’m not sure what the point of this arc is because it goes disastrous as we assumed it would, and it’s cut short when Maggie is called into work for multiple emergencies.

But when the rain and fog come pouring down, it seems like Maggie and Jackson aren’t going anywhere. Uh oh.

This brings us to the episode’s most dramatic point yet. All while this is going on, Catherine and Bailey are having a secret meeting in the conference room. No one knows what’s going on but it looks super serious–because it is.

Remember when Meredith committed insurance fraud for a patient? Well, it seems like the company has learned the truth and wants to know who is responsible.

DeLuca is brought in for questioning and he does something we did not see coming–he takes the blame for Meredith entirely. Unfortunately, when DeLuca tells Meredith “the truth” she’s stuck in a hyperbaric chamber with Alex’s patient so she can’t exactly come running out. This moment is too difficult to watch because DeLuca just said “I love you” to Meredith, and she didn’t reciprocate. Now, he’s taking the fall for her actions based on that love, and it’s not going to end well for him.

As we head into next week’s Grey’s Anatomy season 15 finale, we can’t help but wonder if Webber or Meredith will come forward with the truth. It doesn’t seem right for DeLuca to take the blame, so I hope that situation is handled in a fair way. But this is Grey’s Anatomy, who knows what will happen.

Side note: Link asks Amelia to decide what she wants from this relationship, and it made me feel a little smitten over him. The man knows what he wants and he’s so optimistic about life, who knew Link would go on to be such an admirable character?

There are a lot of loose ends to tie up in next week’s season 15 finale, and we can’t wait to see how it all ends–for now.

The Grey’s Anatomy season 15 finale airs next Thursday on ABC at 8 PM EST!
