On My Block renewed for season 3 at Netflix

On My Block season 3 is officially in the works at Netflix. The streaming network renewed On My Block for season 3.

On My Block is coming back for another season! According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, On My Block season 3 is officially happening at Netflix. The streaming network renewed the series for a third season and announced the news on social media.

The third season of the series will consist of eight episodes, according to the report. That’s two episodes shorter than the first and second seasons. Netflix has been dropping episode counts for many of their newer shows, and I think that’s because more people will watch shows with few episodes.

For those who don’t know, the series was created by Lauren Iungerich and premiered on Netflix in 2018. The series tells the story of a group of teens living in the same Los Angeles neighborhood.  Sierra Capri, Diego Tinoco, Brett Gray and Jason Genao star in the hit Netflix original series.

A renewal for season 3 of the series was far from a certainty. Netflix just canceled Santa Clarita Diet after three seasons, and the third season of Santa Clarita Diet and On My Block season 2 premiered on Netflix on the same day at the end of March. We knew we’d be hearing about On My Block’s fate soon.

Netflix has been renewing a lot of shows for new seasons, but they’ve also been canceling a lot of shows due to low viewership. Luckily, enough fans tuned into for On My Block season 2, and Netflix renewed the series for a new season.

Hopefully, fans will keep watching the series and the series will be renewed for season 4 after we see season 3.

We still haven’t heard when to expect the new season of the series. Odds are On My Block season 3 will arrive in the spring of 2020. The first two seasons of the series have been added to Netflix in March 2018 and 2019, respectively.
