It's the first weekend of November, and Halloween's officially in the past. While that doesn't mean that you have to stop watching horror movies and other spooky things, a lot of people will be following the orders of Mariah Carey, who has declared that "it's time" to start celebrating Christmas.

On the first day of November, Netflix drops nearly a dozen recent Hallmark Christmas movies, including Bethany Joy Lenz's A Biltmore Christmas and Lacey Chabert's Haul Out the Holly and its sequel. The over-sized drop of holiday rom-coms leads to the kickoff of Netflix's original Christmas movie spree throughout the month, beginning next week.

But if you're not quite ready to get festive for a December holiday quite yet, there's plenty of Netflix new releases on the menu that have nothing to do with Halloween, Christmas, or even Thanksgiving. The Diplomat returns with its second season, a new docuseries explores alleged alien abductions from the '80s, and Martha Stewart's career-spanning documentary has hit the top 10.

Find out which of these to watch and which one you could probably skip this weekend with our recommendations below!

The Diplomat season 2

Watch! Keri Russell's back in her Emmy Award-nominated role as Kate Wyler in the second season of Netflix's hit original political thriller The Diplomat. This season, Kate's up against some of her trickiest situations following a car bombing that nearly killed her husband. While looking into the truth of the various attacks that have impacted the UK, she learns some shocking revelations about both of the governments she's been tasked with keeping the peace between.

If you can believe it, the second season's even better than the first and boasts a cliffhanger that will not see coming. Seriously, it's juicy and unbelievable! The six-episode second season's twists and turns are al leading up to the show's already-renewed third season. Even if you think you're not interested in political drama series, The Diplomat brings truly captivating storytelling and unmissable performances. It's by far the best binge of the weekend!

The Manhattan Alien Abduction

Skip! Okay, so maybe there's a bit of spooky still to be watch on Netflix this weekend. The new investigative documentary series The Manhattan Alien Abduction dives into a story from the '80s in which over 20 people claimed to witness an alien abduction. The three-episode docuseries attempts to uncover the truth and ponders if there's really other lifeforms out there that have touched down on Earth. If you aren't a fan of documentaries about aliens, then you probably won't be rushing to turn on this particular title when you come across it on the top 10 this weekend.

Martha

Watch! Maybe alien abduction stories aren't quite your speed, but perhaps Netflix's new Martha Stewart documentary will be what you're looking for this weekend. Martha traces the rise, fall, and second rise of the lifestyle businesswoman in the nearly two-hour film. Stewart tells the story of her life, career, and empire and all of its ups and downs. Although she isn't crazy about some of the choices the director made, if you're a fan of the pop culture icon, it's definitely worth the watch.
