Book lovers are very loyal to their favorite page turners, and Netflix fans are just as passionate
about their favorite shows. You're lucky that Netflix features many book-to-screen adaptations, including television and movie series based on classic and modern novels. Avid book fans like myself often anxiously await these and then dissect them, analyzing details like casting choices and how faithfully the writers followed the books.
Years ago, Netflix hosted a Netflix Book Club where the authors, creators, and actors of popular adaptations discussed similarities in titles like Bridgerton, Sweet Magnolias, and Pieces of Her. Recently, Netflix rolled out something new: Watch Your Favorite Books, a genre in the Netflix library where you can choose your favorite adaptations by viewing pleasure.
Netflix has many choices, and we've narrowed our list to feel-good romances, twisty mysteries, and young adult and family adaptations. While there are many other options, this list would be way too long.

1. Sweet Magnolias
If you mix lifelong friendships with family drama and sweet, angsty romances, you've got Sweet Magnolias. At its core, it delves into the relationships and lives of Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Helen (Heather Headley), and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott). While it's based on Sherryl Woods' 11-part book series, the Netflix adaptation only faithfully adapts the first three books.
However, fans love it because not many series focus on the strength of grown women's friendships, and these three will do anything for each other. As the years pass, Maddie's son Ty and Dana Sue's daughter, Annie, also pulled in fans with their personal story. Be sure to grab your girlfriends, margaritas, and snacks for this one.

2. Bridgerton
Julia Quinn's period novels provide the Netflix series plenty of scandalous drama and sizzling romance. Each season of Bridgerton features a different sibling and novel. The first season focused on the oldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne, as she deals with the etiquette and scandal of that time and falls in love with Simon, the Duke of Hastings.
The rest of the seasons feature the Bridgerton brothers—Anthony, Colin, and Benedict—and their stories are just as romantic. Anthony and Kate feature an angsty push-and-pull vibe, while Colin and Penelope are the epitome of a friends-to-lovers trope. Benedict and Sophie's romance often reminds fans of an emotionally layered "Cinderella" fairytale that unites the rigid class divides of Regency London.

3. One Day
It's rare for book-to-screen adaptations to have multiple successful adaptations. David Nicholls' novel, One Day, was already beautifully transformed into a film adaptation in 2011 with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. I saw it, and I cried. However, the Netflix adaptation reigned supreme, partly because it had more time to let its story breathe.
Book lovers and fans of the film will love this version. Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod possess believable chemistry. You can see it from their first scenes in Edinburgh, which there are more of. Their kiss in the maze was so angsty and passionate, and you believed the bittersweetness and the hurt that their time kept being cut short. You'll smile, and you'll cry with this one, so come prepared with tissues, wine, and chocolate.

4. To All The Boys
Jenny Han has become so successful that she now has two of her book series adapted, but it all started with her series about Lara Jean and To All the Boys We've Loved Before. We've all been there, writing thoughts to a crush, and then your little sister gets involved. Lara Jean (Lana Condor) never expected her crushes to see her thoughts, so one of them, Peter (Noah Centineo), offers to pretend to be her boyfriend.
It's a rom-com. We know what happens. The two actually start to fall for each other, but there is a contract in play, so it's complicated. If you like Peter and Lara Jean, there's a trilogy of movies and an additional series about her sister, Kitty, XO, Kitty. It's light and romantic, with just a touch of angst.

5. Little House on the Prairie
I grew up on the original series. It will always own a piece of my heart, but Netflix's adaptation of Little House on the Prairie allowed Laura Ingalls Wilder's third book to breathe better. Instead of a 90-minute pilot movie, fans got eight episodes to learn about the Ingalls, the community of Independence, and the Osage.
This version explores more about choices and consequences. How did the Ingalls' move affect Caroline and Charles' marriage? It also features more about the Osage, their beliefs, and their place in Independence, where they had only a few scenes in the original. I fell in love with this updated version of Little House on the Prairie and would recommend it to old and new fans.
6. Little Women
There have been several adaptations of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. I grew up watching several of them. I appreciated the BBC's miniseries version because it had extra time to develop characters and expanded certain scenes. It's also ironic that three actors who played the March sisters went on to star in Netflix series: Maya Hawke (Jo) in Stranger Things, Willa Fitzgerald (Meg) in Pulse, and Kathryn Newton (Amy) in The Society. I love that it's on Netflix.
This version of Little Women mainly tells the story of the March sisters in chronological order. With the extra time, they could flesh out scenes about Beth's illness and how it affected her sisters, Meg's relationship with John Brooke and her painful childbirth, and the romantic tension between Jo and Laurie. Book lovers may like seeing the character expansion, especially of Marmee and Aunt March

7. My Life With the Walter Boys
Young adult book-to-screen adaptations have been the rage, and My Life With the Walter Boys fits perfectly. It's based on Ali Novak's novel, and it focuses on Jackie Howard, a teenager, who is forced to uproot her life and move in with her mother's best friend's family after the rest of her family is killed.
This series has had massive appeal. Almost everyone wants to see Jackie overcome her grief and settle into her new surroundings. But as an added twist, two of the Walter boys—bad boy Cole and sweet Alex—both like Jackie. Talk about complicated. It's more than just two brothers crushing on her since they're almost her foster brothers.

8. Finding Her Edge
Ice skating and hockey YA series are also trending. Every network has one, with Off-Campus and Heated Rivalry leading the pack. The figure skating season is just starting again, so it's the perfect time to dive into Netflix's Finding Her Edge, based on Jennifer Iacopelli's novel. It focuses on the three Russo sisters and how they manage the pressures of competitive skating and their family's legacy.
The middle sister, Adriana (Madylyn Keys), centers the series. She feels the burden of having to win the World Championships to save the family business, and she's just returning to ice dancing. The series fleshes out the drama and her love triangle with her old partner, Freddie, and her current partner, Brayden, even more.

9. I Will Find You
Netflix features many of Harlan Coben's mystery thrillers, but I Will Find You has set ratings records. It's been on the all-time Top 10 for seven weeks, and it's the most popular 2026 Netflix original show. It's the first time Coben wrote one of his twisty thrillers with a Netflix series in mind, but it works. Viewers resonate with the emotional high-stakes of a wrongfully accused father, David (Sam Worthington), who suddenly learns his son is alive.
I Will Find You features all the family drama, fast-moving plots, and intrigue we've come to expect from a Harlan Coben series. The stellar cast sucks you in each episode, making this an easy binge. This is the perfect time to become a Harlan Coben fan if you aren't already

10. His & Hers
Alice Feeney is a master at mysteries, and Netflix enhanced the source material by adding more context to the characters and the ending. His & Hers follows Anna and Jack Harper, played by Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal. They've been estranged, but they're brought together when a childhood friend of Anna dies. Anna is a reporter investigating the case, and Jack serves as a sheriff's detective.
Nothing would be that easy, though. They're both keeping secrets from each other, and things become more dangerous as the killer drops hints about their identity. Could there be a serial killer, and how are these murders connected? Be prepared for a wild ride.

11. The Perfect Couple
If you're looking for an addictive mystery series to binge with a glass of wine while you guess the killer, The Perfect Couple is just the one. It's adapted from Elin Hilderbrand's best-selling novel and centers around Amelia Sacks' wedding into the wealthy Winbury family. The festivities don't go as planned; the maid of honor is murdered.
Secrets don't stay buried, even in wealthy families, and couples aren't as perfect as they look. The Perfect Couple keeps you engaged with the lies, the relationships, and the motives. It includes an all-star cast led by Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, and Liev Schrieber.
