3 wildly adventurous Netflix movies to watch after Anaconda

Sometimes, the most popular movie on Netflix isn't even one of the streaming service's original movies. That's the case right now as Jack Black and Paul Rudd's Anaconda reboot film has become the No. 1 movie on Netflix following its drop on March 25. The big-screen hit wasted no time to shoot straight to the peak of the ranking immediately after being added to the streamer.

Anaconda hit theaters on Christmas Day in 2025 and introduced a new generation to the beloved '90s action-adventure horror film of the same name. A meta-reboot of the original classic, Black and Rudd star as friends who are inspired by the 1997 movie to create their own remake, which places them right in the dangerous path of an actual anaconda. What are the odds?

As one of the most popular movies on Netflix right now, along with Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man and War Machine, fans are no doubt watching and rewatching Anaconda before it inevitably leaves Netflix after a little more than a year. The Bubble (2022)

You might look at a title like The Bubble and wonder how that has anything to do with adventure. But the comedy from Judd Apatow is filled to the brim with adventure as well as absurd laughs. While the Netflix movie was released on April Fool's Day in 2022 to mostly negative reception, the stacked cast is more than worth checking this one out again and giving it a second chance.

The Bubble centers on the cast of the blockbuster dinosaur movie franchise Cliff Beasts as they quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to film the sixth installment in the series. However, their quarantine bubble in a countryside hotel soon because the epicenter for chaos as they all test positive for the flu and continue on with production.

It's a bit less of a straightforward action-adventure movie than even the Anaconda reboot is, but both movies share a similar sense of humor. How can it not when frequent collaborators Paul Rudd and Judd Apatow are the common thread between the two? If you need some more laughs after your latest watch of the snake adventure comedy, give the dinosaur movie parody a shot next!

Murder Mystery 2 (2023)

After the exciting success of their first Netflix movie together, 2019's Murder Mystery, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston returned for the adventure-comedy's sequel in 2023. The two first worked together on the 2011 romantic comedy Just Go with It, and their chemistry was just too good to not put on the screen once again. Thankfully, they found the perfect project.

The reason why the first Murder Mystery wasn't chosen for this list (but should still be watched before the sequel) is because Murder Mystery 2 builds even more upon the newfound adventurous lives of Nick and Audrey Spitz (Sandler and Aniston). The married couple are now working as private detectives, resulting in globe-trotting adventures to Paris and beyond to solve mysteries.

Obviously, Murdery Mystery 2 wasn't particularly well-received by critics, but that's what was expected following the original's less than warm reception. But viewers loved these movies when they were released. After all, they are simple fun starring two of the most bankable and talented movie stars of the past 30 years. You can do worse for a movie night full of adventure!

Troll (2022)

So far on this list of recommendations, we have covered comedies and action-packed mysteries, but the one aspect of Anaconda that we have yet to touch upon is the monster aspect of the monster movie. Whether it's sharks, snakes, monkeys, aliens, zombies, or what have you, there are countless monster movies that are primed to send a chill down your spine. But what about trolls?

No, not the cute animated ones from the popular Trolls movie franchise. The massive beast from the 2022 Netflix original Norwegian film Troll. In the movie, a fearless group bands together in order to prevent an ancient and overwhelmingly giant troll that returned to life from destroying everything in its path. Just like the titular troll, the movie was massive, a viewership sensation.

The sequel, Troll 2, arrived on Netflix three years later in December 2025 and reunited with the group from the first movie as they navigate a battle between two trolls. The ante was upped! As far as adventure and action and thrills go, the back-to-back battles in both movies are the perfect one-two punch for movie night after hilariously battling an anaconda with Jack Black and Paul Rudd.
