Warning: Major spoilers ahead from Virgin River season 7 ahead!

Virgin River season 7 reveals Charmaine's fate
First of all, let's get any confusion out of the way: Charmaine does not die in Virgin River season 7, and her twin sons are also safe and sound. The season begins with a body being placed into a coroner's van, which might lead some viewers to momentarily believe that Charmaine could be the one in the bodybag. However, we soon learn that Calvin was shot and killed in Charmaine's house.
While we don't return to that moment or see it for ourselves, we can put two and two together that when Jack looked into the babies' room, he discovered Calvin's dead body and called the police. Mike's on the scene to talk to Jack, and this early into the investigation, Charmaine's one of the suspects for who could have pulled the trigger and killed Calvin. She definitely has motive.
Shortly after this scene, Mike confirms that Charmaine and the twins are alive and safe after seeing them in CCTV footage at a gas station. But that means that Charmaine's on the run, which looks even worse regarding her potential role in the shooting. Throughout the season, Mike and Brie team up as detective and lawyer to track down and help Charmaine.
Eventually, Charmaine makes contact with Brie to meet her at a hotel, but she ends up being tracked and isn't at the hotel when Brie arrives. In the end, they learn that Charmaine didn't kill Calvin. Grant, the owner of the salon Charmaine works at, killed Calvin to protect her. He ends up taking Charmaine and the babies to keep them safe, but he locks them away in a bedroom, basically kidnapping them.
Calvin thought there was something going on between Charmaine and Grant and was prepare to steal the twins away from her. But Grant shot and killed Calvin before that could happen. Grant does have an obsessive love for Charmaine, but she does not reciprocate his feelings and is actually quite afraid of him. Thankfully, Mike and Brie find her and finally save her and the babies.
Lauren Hammersley only appears in Virgin River season 7 a few times, and after the mystery surrounding her storyline is resolved, Charmaine doesn't return again to wrap things up. Naturally, this calls into question how big of a role the character will have in season 8 and beyond since the focus has been moved elsewhere. Let's see what happens next for Charmaine!
