Virgin River stars set for exciting fan event ahead of season 8's release

Virgin River fans, prepare to have your official meet-cute with the hit Netflix original series' cast. As the show quickly approaches the premiere of season 8, there hasn't been a real way for the fans to connect with the stars of the show beyond potential exchanges on social media. But later this year, long before new episodes arrive on our watch lists, that's about to change.

Benjamin Hollingsworth had been teasing an announcement, which naturally had Virgin River fans wondering whether the actor would be sharing the season 8 release date or an early renewal for season 9. Well, as Hollingsworth referenced in the video he shared on Instagram, his announcement was actually for the first ever convention for romantic drama series.

Virgin River cast members confirmed for Meet Cute Con in Nashville

The convention, aptly named the Meet Cute Con, takes place on Nov. 6 through Nov. 8 at the Loveless Barn in Nashville, Tennessee. Taking on theme of "Small Town Swoon," a number of stars from various television shows will make an appearance, though Virgin River stars Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Zibby Allen, and Benjamin Hollingsworth are confirmed to appear.

Hollingsworth explained that the event will kick off with a rooftop party for VIP guests and teased that fans who attend will have the chance to meet and take photos of the stars, hear question and answer sessions about the shows, see exclusive performances, and other cool experiences. Not to mention, since the convention is in Nashville, there will be great food.

In addition to the guartet of Virgin River stars headlining the event, they will be joined by One Tree Hill alum Jana Kramer and Hallmark's The Way Home star Evan Williams. Both of these stars have teased musical performances planned at some point during the convention, which is just an added bonus beyond hearing about your favorite shows and getting to meet these talented actors.

If spending a fall weekend in Nashville with the stars of Virgin River, One Tree Hill, and The Way Home sounds like the perfect excuse for a getaway, you're probably wondering how much tickets will run you. The prices for passes range from $749 for the elite VIP package to $199 for single-day passes for Saturday or Sunday's festivities. Meet Cute Con's official website explains each package.

Beyond the passes to the event, there's also multiple options for photo opportunities between the six stars. Attendees have their choice of solo photo ops with each stars, though there are team-up photo op choices between each of the Virgin River cast members and a special team-up photo op for Hollingsworth and Kramer, since they starred together in The Christmas Ring.

Since it's the first year for the convention, Meet Cute Con appears to be starting with a smaller lineup and a less hectic event schedule than most convention goers are probably used to. There have been various conventions, even beyond the mecca Comic-Con, that brings stars from all kinds of series, whether its nostalgic '90s hits or procedural dramas, under one roof to connect with fans.

Hopefully, in the future, Meet Cute Con will be able to expand with more casts from other popular series, possibly the likes of Sweet Magnolias, Ransom Canyon, and other hit Netflix shows. We'll see what the future holds, including the Virgin River season 8 (and 9!) news we're hoping for!
