Does Horace die in Beauty in Black season 2 part 2?

And we're back! All eight episodes of Beauty in Black season 2 part 2 are now available to stream on Netflix, and the drama is more intense than ever. Fans have been waiting to see how the power struggles within the Bellarie empire would continue to play out, and this new batch of episodes does not disappoint.

But there's one character who spends a good portion of part 2 away from the rest. That's Horace Bellarie. If you recall from the part 1 finale, Horace left for Italy to undergo experimental treatments to hopefully halt the progression of his cancer and give himself a fighting chance at survival.

Of course, this left Kimmie to deal with the Bellarie empire and Horace's dysfunctional family all on her own. While this is still pretty much the case in Beauty in Black season 2 part 2, we do find out if the treatments end up actually working for Horace. So, what is Horace's fate at the end of the second season?

Horace does not die in Beauty in Black season 2 part 2

Luckily, it’s revealed early in part 2 that Horace might survive. In fact, we see this in the very first episode of Beauty in Black season 2 part 2. At the beginning of episode 1, Horace is shown sitting in a hospital bed in Italy. A doctor enters the room, and Horace immediately tells him how great he's feeling after undergoing treatment.

The doctor conducts a quick check-up on Horace’s heart and confirms that all of his organs are in good condition. He also notes that Horace is responding well to the treatments. Horace then asks the all-important question: Will he survive? The doctor tells him it’s possible, but cautions that he’ll need multiple treatments over the coming months, along with regular follow-ups with his doctor back in America.

Horace spends most of part 2 in the hospital in Italy until he's cleared to travel back home. It's not until the Beauty in Black season 2 part 2 finale that he finally returns to Chicago. At the very end of the last episode, we see him team up with Kimmie and Mallory in a masterful power play against the rest of the Bellarie family. Using the leverage they’ve built and turning state’s evidence on the rest of the Bellaries, they orchestrate an FBI raid. The feds then enter the company's office and prepare to arrest them all as Horace, Kimmie, and Mallory walk out with no problems.

So, there you have it! Horace does not die in Beauty in Black season 2 part 2. However, it's worth mentioning that this could still happen in the upcoming third and final season. Remember, the treatments Horace received in Italy have stabilized his condition for now. He's not cured of cancer. We'll just have to wait and see how things turn out for Horace in the next installment.
