It’s not always the case that winning top entertainment awards makes a film a great watch. Some can be tough to get through but they are still very deserving of the accolade. But two top awards for a movie available on Netflix is a huge signal to make sure you see it if you haven't already.
If you haven’t yet seen the latest Wallace and Gromit animation Vengeance Most Fowl, what have you been doing? Where have you been? It’s a comedy classic and deserves your attention.
If you weren't sure, then the Aardman animation was given two big thumbs up as recommendations on Sunday night. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts, more usually known as BAFTA celebrated the film with a couple of awards. It was awarded a BAFTA each for Best Animated Film and Children's Family Film.
Wallace and Gromit are deserving BAFTA award winners available on Netflix
Now do take the Children’s Family Film award as information, this is a film suitable for all ages. It's perfect for children, families, and also for adult audiences too. The humor in the story works for all. Which is why it has that Best Animated Film award sitting alongside on a display shelf.
Vengeance Most Fowl was released on Netflix on January 3. It needed a long wait for another Wallace and Gromit feature, 16 years to be precise. Such a long gap can often be a warning sign that maybe the moment has passed or the quality will have dropped. That’s not the case at all here, as those two BAFTAs now confirm.
It is a very British style of comedy. The film has so many subtle hints towards great movie scenes and plots from the past that make it a must-watch. The two main characters are as loveable as ever as they get entangled in a plot based on issues with new technology.
You get a flavor of the style of humor in accepting that some other key characters are a bunch of Norbots, robotic garden gnomes. And, of course, the dramatic return of Feathers McGraw a penguin with his superb disguise as a chicken. Yes, it is a bit of madness, but it will all make great sense when you watch it.
The two awards are much deserved and delighted the film's creator, Nick Park, from Aardman Animations. Behind the animated characters, there’s a strong cast of actors adding their voices to help make it a brilliant experience. They include comedians Peter Kay and Lenny Henry along with Diane Morgan and Adjoa Andoh. If you weren't sure before, that's your signal and recommendation to get this film on your watchlist soon.
