There's finally some thrilling news to share about The Gentlemen season 3, and it comes not long after the second season hit our watch lists on Netflix earlier this fall. The streaming service announced the British crime drama's season 3 renewal ahead of the season 2 premiere, and we're finally learning new details about the upcoming new episodes.
On Oct. 23, Netflix announced that The Gentlemen season 3 has officially started filming. The streaming service made the announcement with a video of Theo James and Kaya Scodelario as Eddie and Susie giving a tease of their latest endeavor that sees them "branching out." The video teases a glimpse of the show's newest production location in Morocco.
While the third season will also be filmed in the United Kingdom as usual, The Gentlemen season 3 heading to Morocco aligns with the synopsis shared Netflix's press release: "Eddie and Susie embark upon their most audacious project yet: building a casino in the Middle East. But with danger lurking around every corner, has the Duke’s unchecked ambition finally gone too far?"
Something’s brewing…

The Gentlemen season 3 adds Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, and more
Beyond the exciting news that cameras are now rolling on The Gentlemen season 3, Eddie and Susie's dangerous new adventure also brings three new familiar faces to the cast on top of five more additions to the expansive ensemble cast. The trio of big stars boarding season 3 are Once Upon a Time star Robert Carlyle, Orlando Bloom, and Elijah Wood. It's a Lord of the Rings reunion for Bloom and Wood!
In addition to Carlyle, Bloom, and Wood joining the cast, The Gentlemen season 3 also adds Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speelers, Saffron Burrows, and Bugzy Malone. Netflix hasn't offered character names or descriptions for the new additions, and it's currently unclear which of the new cast members are series regulars and which are either recurring or guests.
Before season 2 dropped in September 2026, rumors started flying that Meghan Markle had been in discussions to take on a role in the series, but Deadline confirms that she won't be in season 3. On top of James and Scodelario continuing to lead the cast, returning cast members include Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Benjamin Clementine, and Maya Jama. You will notice that at least two names have been left out.
Daniel Ings recently confirmed that he won't appear in The Gentlemen season 3, leaving the series as his character Freddy after that shocking and violent twist at the end of season 2. Some might have assumed that he'd continue to play a large role in the show based on that ending, but it appears as though Eddie and the series as a whole is moving on with a fresh story.
It's also been confirmed that Giancarlo Esposito won't be back as the American billionaire Stanley Johnston, who Eddie frequently turned to for help and worked with in various ways. Stanely's absence once again highlights how the series will be treading new ground with its storylines in season 3, but you never know if or when these departed characters could return in the future.
Now that The Gentlemen season 3 is officially in production, we're hopeful that the wait time in between seasons will be much shorter this time around. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the new episodes will be ready for release before the end of next year. Stay tuned for more updates!
