To get any drama out of the way, the animated movie that Netflix really wants to do well is due to be released on November 14, 2025. That should be just in time for families to watch In Your Dreams over the Thanksgiving break and during the December holidays. Perfect timing.

But will the movie be any good? It should be, based on the directing team of Alex Woo and Erik Benson. Your favorite streamer doesn't do anything half-heartedly, and if it's going to delve into spending money on an animated flick, you can bet that money is going to be well spent.

So, as you can see in the recently dropped teaser trailer for In Your Dreams, the graphics are great, the voices are perfect, and the hijinks are real. Heck, there is even a sarcastic giraffe voice by Craig Robinson, likely best known for his work on The Office.

Netflix drops teaser trailer for animated In Your Dreams

The plot finds two siblings, Stevie and Elliot, who try to navigate their dreams in hopes of finding the Sandman. Once he is found, the hope is that he will grant the siblings' wish of having the perfect family.

Yes, that sounds a bit like a bummer, but the teaser trailer lets us know that this is not going to be an extremely heavy film. There will be moments of drama, but most likely, the satisfying ending where the kids are alright.

While searching for Sandman, Stevie and Elliot meet a people-eating hot dog, the queen of nightmares, and breakfast foods turned zombies. That implies there could be a bit of scariness to the film, so parents of very young kids might need to be forewarned.

There are also a couple of oddly adult moments where the kids are in a department store with no clothes on and Elliot asks, "What's so scary about this?" And the giraffe answers, "Absolutely nothing," but in a slightly uncomfortable way. Weird.
