Each week, the Netflix Top 10 most popular shows ranking gains a few new titles that some viewers might not have heard about. But nevertheless, we constantly feel pulled to dive in and check out the Netflix new releases that are setting the world ablaze. Keeping true to the thriller genre that's a frequent slam-dunk for the streamer, Jo Nesbø's Detective Hole is one of the latest hits.

Based on the series of novels, Detective Hole centers on the titular detective, Harry Hole played by Tobias Santelmann, as he investigates a dangerous serial killer. Meanwhile, he's battling against a long-time colleague, a corrupt detective played by Joel Kinnaman, and also fighting his own demons. The series adds up to a gripping crime drama that you simply can't stop watching.

The Night Agent

It feels strange recommending The Night Agent after it's completed three full seasons and prepares for its upcoming fourth. But there are likely some people who have held out on watching the Netflix original spy thriller since its breakout debut in 2023. Well, it's about time to finally take the plunge and go on some globe-trotting missions with Peter Sutherland.

Like Detective Hole, The Night Agent is also based on a book and centers on a nuanced hero going through some complicated parts of his past. As a Night Agent, Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) takens on high-stakes cases that often deal with corruption and conspiracy in the government and his own agency. He has yet to hunt down a serial killer, but never say never!

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

On the same day that Detective Hole dropped on Netflix, the streamer also released that new horror series Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. Since both shows debuted on the same day, it's likely that most viewers picked one or the other based on their taste. If you like crime dramas, you'd pick the one about a detective. But if you like horror, you'd pick the one from the Duffer Brothers.

The Stranger Things creators executive produced the unique series from creator Haley Z. Boston, which stars Emmy Award nominee Camila Morrone. Leading up to her wedding, Rachel begins to have the unsettling feeling that something bad will happen. She eventually learns about a horrible curse that's been plaguing her family for generations, and something bad does happen.

Q, which debuted last spring and was quickly renewed for a second season. Netflix is really keeping crime drama fans spoiled with all of the great new binge-worthy shows that we actually want to watch.
