It’s quite a mixed collection as we look at the top five most viewed Netflix movies and shows for the previous week, but there's plenty you need to see on there. The numbers and lists have been updated on TUDUM with quite a few retaining their listing from last week.
Just three new entries across the two lists, one in particular that’s recently been added on Netflix is a don’t miss that everyone is talking about.
Just one new entry on the top five most viewed movies list for last week. It splashes in at number three but will likely be gone by next week. Three of the other four have a family feel about them and include some superb animation. Then there’s a traditional shock horror, to keep us all awake too.
The most viewed shows have two new entries. They help show the key genres that we all want to see more of - investigative crime-based docuseries and a good cops and crime setting. Based on the demand and social media comments for one of those new entries, we can surely expect further seasons to follow.

5 - Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
Sequels and spin-offs can be a bit hit and miss. This is number six in the Shrek series and full of fun. We get to hear Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek do their sparkling voiceovers again and bring the characters to life. Another great Dreamworks Animation movie for the family.
4 - Nonnas
You can't keep a good nonna down. The story of the Italian restaurant where it’s the nonna’s providing the hearty family food. So Vince Vaughn and the team wouldn’t go wrong with this movie based on a true story. This is the fourth week in the top five, though it may be heading off that menu by next week.
3 - Aquaman:Lost Kingdom
Jason Momoa reprises his role from the 2018 original movie as he battles again with Black Manta. There are some fun moments as his character, Arthur, and his half-brother, Orm, played by Patrick Wilson, spar with each other. But the movie didn’t stand up as well as the original; the lacklustre storyline doesn’t sparkle like the first movie did.
2 - The Wild Robot
When you realise that this is Dreamworks Animation's most Oscar-nominated movie, then you know it’s a top film. It’s a beautiful animation based on the book by Peter Brown from 2016. The clever storyline has a helpful service robot stranded on a remote island and surviving alongside the animals there.
1 - Fear Street:Prom Queen
There’s always space for some blood, gore, and slasher-based horror on the most-viewed lists. As this new release last month shows. The 1988 setting and prom queen parade storyline do give it an authentic feel. The Fear Street series has been running for a while now, and this fourth movie is a great addition.

5 - Bet
Bet has clung on to its top five place with just under three million views for the week. The story, based on a Japanese Manga original, has held the interest in this new version. Set in an elite boarding school with a high-stakes gambling issue, it offers a teenage psychological drama with plenty of twists.
4 - American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden
This documentary series is holding up well as it stretches into its third top-five week. It’s still attracting over five million viewers in the last week, proving the value and reach of these investigative shows. But then the very title attracts attention, add in the rare footage and exclusive interviews, and we're hooked.
3 - Dept. Q
A Danish noir original story, it has a belligerent cop taking on a new cold case department from the police station's basement. This version has Edinburgh as a superb external backdrop. Episode one grabs you from the start and then teases as the plot unfolds, leaving us with many puzzles and questions that leave us all wanting more.
Hard not to binge-watch this, as many viewers have found out and explained on their socials.
2 - Cold case: The Tylenol Murders
Yes, it’s another true crime-based show. This documentary focuses on the deaths of seven people in Chicago in 1982 linked to Tylenol use. At the time, it sparked a product recall and caused panic among its users. Find out why and see an exclusive interview with the prime suspect for the killings, which remain unsolved.
1 - Sirens
Holding the top spot again is Sirens. A stunning cast, featuring Julieanne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, and Kevin Bacon, along with a tight, smart, and witty storyline, all combine very well. No wonder it had eighteen million views last week alone. That sees it well ahead on the top five list and likely to be around for a while yet.
