In Outer Banks season 4, Sarah Cameron learned that she was pregnant with John B's baby. It was a big shock for the Pogues, but immediately, Sarah and John B start trying to do right for their new family.
Unfortunately, that means they have to keep treasure hunting after losing out on the Royal Merchant gold, the Cross of Santo Domingo, all the gold they lost from El Dorado, and of course, the Blue Crown.
Then, in Outer Banks season 5, the Pogues finally catch a streak of good luck!
Spoilers ahead for Sarah and John B's relationship and the Outer Banks season 5 finale!
After a full season of traveling around the world and a couple big scares along the way, Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and John B (Chase Stokes), and the rest of the Pogues, get the win they've been waiting for. They lose the Blue Crown, but they end up with the gold from the Royal Merchant after Hurricane Cassandra wipes out the Outer Banks.
Sarah and John B named their baby JJ
Then, there's a big time jump to Sarah and John B's wedding. Kiara (Madison Bailey), who is the Maid of Honor, walks down the aisle holding JJ, a baby boy.
Honestly, this is much of a surprise for anyone who has been paying attention. I think most fans knew that, once JJ, played Rudy Pankow, died in the season 4 finale, Sarah and John B would probably be naming their baby after him in some way.
Sure, we didn't know that it was going to be, literally, JJ. We still don't know exactly what the Js stand for, even after the finale, but I'm assuming the first name is John, considering that John B's dad is named John, John B is also John, and JJ Maybank is also named John. Remember, JJ goes by JJ and John B goes by John B because they are both named John and are best friends.
It's a fitting way to honor John B's best friend and brother after everything JJ meant to John B and Sarah, their story, and their lives.

Sarah and John B's love story ends with their wedding
Outer Banks season 5 ends with Sarah and John B's wedding at the Chateau, which was rebuilt following Hurricane Cassandra. It didn't get damaged in the hurricane because Topper (Austin North) burned it down in season 3, as you'll recall.
We don't know exactly how much time has passed between the discovery of the Royal Merchant gold, but it appears to be about a year after because JJ doesn't look like he's a year old yet. It's a considerable amount of time, though, because the Chateau has been officially rebuilt.
Sarah and John B get married in front of their son and all of their friends and family, which is basically everyone from the series, including Topper, Shoupe (Cullen Moss), Barry (Nicholas Cirillo), Ellie (Natalie Brown), and so many other randos who popped up over the last few seasons.
They take some pictures, and the series ends with all of the Pogues, including John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Cleo (Carlacia Grant), and little baby JJ. So, while big JJ is gone, little JJ is now officially one of the Pogues. And he'll be a Pogue for life.
It's definitely a bittersweet ending. In the end, the Pogues have won, but they also lost a lot along the way, too. If that's not a metaphor for life, I don't know what is.
