You season 5 has officially finished filming in New York City, according to series star Penn Badgley!

Badgley took to TikTok to announce his final day filming You season 5, which was also his final day as Joe Goldberg and his many aliases because the fifth season is also the final season of the Netflix original series.

Penn Badgley shares hilarious video from his last day on You season 5

In the video, Badgley takes viewers and fans behind the scenes of what it's like to be mindful and become the notorious yet surprisingly jacked serial killer, Joe Goldberg, aka Will Bettelheim aka Professor Jonathan Moore.

Show 'em the shoulders, not the boulders.

We've known for a while, thanks to production listings, that You season 5 was nearing the end of production. The cast and crew have been filming the final season since this spring. Now, the show heads to post-production before its release on Netflix.

Unfortunately, we don't know exactly when to expect You season 5 on Netflix. It's looked like, for most of the year, that we wouldn't get the final season until 2025. Netflix has not included the series in any promo for 2024, and there are so many big shows coming later this year. It doesn't totally make sense to try to squeeze You season 5 into that last month of the year. I would love to see You season 5 hit Netflix on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day 2025, but that's probably pretty unlikely given how Netflix will want to send this show off with some promotion.

I'm guessing a February or March 2025 release date is more likely. That's when Netflix dropped season 4, and I think that worked out pretty well.

We'll see, though! I know I'm going to miss this show, even if I didn't totally love the fourth season. I can't wait to seen Badgley back as Joe Goldberg on the streets of New York City and back in the book store where we met him in the first season.

You season 5 has an awesome cast, including Charlotte Ritchie, Anna Camp, Madeline Brewer, Griffin Matthews, b, Natasha Behnam, Tom Francis, Nava Mau, and Pete Ploszek. We're also expecting to see a few familiar faces in the final season, but they haven't been confirmed to return yet. Of course, we're talking about Jenna Ortega, Victoria Pedretti, Elizabeth Lail, Tati Gabrielle, Amy Leigh-Hickman, and the many others who played important characters who crossed paths with Joey G.

After Badgley's video, Netflix officially confirmed production on the final season wrapped.
