Who stars in the romantic comedy Anyone But You?
By Diana Nosa
Anyone But You marks the emergence of a new generation of romantic comedies where audiences can sit back, relax, and enjoy cheesy lines and stereotypical love confessions.
Inspired by William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, the 2023 film tells the story of two people who are forced to pretend to be a happy couple for the sake of a wedding party. Naturally, this is easier said than done, as both of them seemingly hate each other's guts. However, after they get over their roadblock of endless disagreements and palpable tension, they will soon come to find that they are better together than going at each other's necks.

"In the edgy comedy Anyone But You, Bea and Ben look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold - until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple."

Now that you know a little more about what you can expect to see in this film, you should absolutely tune into the premeire of Anyone But You on Tuesday, Apr. 23, on Netflix. But before you do so, allow us to tell you all about who stars in the romantic comedy!
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell make an awesome pair!
Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney took a break from playing the role of an emotionally torn teenager to bring us a character even more complex than Cassie Howard --- Bea.
Sweeney's character teaches us how to assert ourselves in a relationship where someone else thinks they have the upper hand. Bea is also a great depiction of the modern-day woman who doesn't sacrifice her confidence for the sake of a man. Even so, Bea has a lot to learn, especially how to let her guard down every now and then.
Sydney Sweeney is joined by Glen Powell, the talented actor who plays the role of Ben.
On the surface, Ben is your stereotypical handsome lead who puts on a front that he has it all figured out. But, upon further inspection, we learn that he also has a few insecurities; some of which are only brought to light when he comes to know Bea.
Playing such complex characters was not an easy task. But of course, actors as talented as Sweeney and Powell were able to pull it off without breaking a sweat.
"I really wanted to show a female character who just doesn't have life figured out," Sydney Sweeney told Refinery29. "But she's also not this hopeless romantic that's gonna throw herself at the foot of a man."
Sweeney continued, "I think that it's a real-life thing for girls. Like, we're all trying to figure out what we want in life and who we are. And it's not all black and white. Like it's hard to figure it out."
In addition to Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, the cast of Anyone But You includes:
- GaTa as Pete
- Darren Barnet as Jonathan
- Bryan Brown as Roger
- Joe Davidson as Beau
- Charlee Fraser as Margaret
- Rachel Griffiths as Innie
- Michelle Hurd as Carol
- Dermot Mulroney as Leo
