So far in 2024, Netflix has had quite the star-studded run with its original romantic comedy movies. The year kicked off with Dan Levy's tear-jerker Good Grief, continued with Gina Rodriguez's team-up with Tom Ellis in Players, then Lindsay Lohan made our Irish Wish come true, and now the streamer debuts a serious one-two-three punch with Mother of the Bride.
In the movie, a single mother receives a real surprise when she learns that her daughter is not only engaged but will have a destination wedding in Thailand in less time than she can wrap her brain around the whole situation. To keep the hits coming, she then discovers that the father of her daughter's fiancé happens to be a long-ago boyfriend who broke her heart.
The cast of Mother of the Bride is led by the superstar trio of Brooke Shields, Miranda Cosgrove, and Benjamin Bratt, and while they might be the film's biggest stars, its supporting cast might be among Netflix's best of the year. If you're watching the movie during its Mother's Day weekend premiere and wondering, "Where do I know them from?," here's the answer to your question.
Brooke Shields as Lana Winslow
