Make sure your watch lists are prepared for an influx of new content on Netflix! In August, there's about to be more new release shows on the streaming service than you're going to know what to do with. The cable network AMC and its streaming service have struck a deal with Netflix to stream over a dozen of its biggest and fan-favorite shows.
When the new first broke in June about AMC shows coming to Netflix, a release timeframe wasn't readily available, but Netflix has officially revealed the release dates for each of the series. All of the 13 shows will be released on Netflix in the United States on Monday, Aug. 19, with two shows outside of the original baker's dozen coming in early 2025.
According to Variety, the shows will remain available to stream on Netflix for one year, which means each of these AMC titles will likely be removed come August 2025.
The full lineup of the AMC titles headed for Netflix was also confirmed:
- A Discovery of Witches season 1-3
- Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches season 1
- Dark Winds season 1-2
- Fear the Walking Dead season 1-8
- Gangs of London season 1-2
- Interview with the Vampire season 1
- Into the Badlands season 1-3
- Kevin Can F Himself season 1-2
- Monsieur Spade season 1
- Preacher season 1-4
- That Dirty Black Bag season 1
- The Terror season 1
- The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 1
- The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 (Jan. 13, 2025)
- The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live season 1 (Jan. 13, 2025)
The Walking Dead universe expands!
Obviously, because The Walking Dead still calls Netflix its streaming home, most fans will undoubtedly flock to all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead and the first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. It's the prefect time to catch up on Daryl Dixon, since the spinoff's second season, subtitled The Book of Carol, will make its premiere on AMC on Sept. 29. Two more of The Walking Dead spinoffs arrive on Netflix in January 2025, so get to bingeing!
Action, action, action!
Into the Badlands and Preacher are two other titles that Netflix viewers will surely watch before the others. Action dramas and dark comedies are two genres that frequently find success on Netflix, and both shows boast over three seasons. If you love The Umbrella Academy and The Sandman, check out Preacher, and if you love shows like Supacell and Vikings: Valhalla, check out Into the Badlands.
Underrated supernatural favorites!
Some of the more underrated series on the list include Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, even though both shows do have loyal followings. They are definitely worth the watch, especially if you're trying to forget it's summer and want to pretend it's already spooky season. Both shows are set to return for new seasons on AMC, Mayfair for its second season and Vampire for its third.
A comedy with a twist!
The most underrated might be Kevin Can F Himself, a sitcom-drama hybrid starring Emmy Award-winning Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy, who's also appeared in Russian Doll and Black Mirror on Netflix. It's only 16 episodes, by far the quickest binge of the bunch! While some might not love the sitcom angle, it all plays a part in telling this uniquely biting and twisted story.
Without question, give each of these excellent series a try when they release on Netflix. With some of the biggest Netflix shows still in production on their latest seasons and not releasing until 2025 (or in some cases 2026!), you're going to need something new to watch when you finish the latest new releases. Ready for laughs, action, thrills, and everything in between? Here you go!
