As Netflix says, the end of a legacy deserves a grand finale. That’s what we’re getting with Cobra Kai season 6. The first part drops later this week, and you will not want to miss out.

The fifth season saw Daniel and Johnny manage to take down madman Terry Silver. At least, for the time being. There is no Cobra Kai in the Valley for the first time since the series premiere of the Karate Kid revival series. This allows for a new start, as more people join Daniel and Johnny’s join dojo.

We’re going to get a moment for everyone to rest and recover. That isn’t going to be for long, though. This is Cobra Kai and that means conflict will arise. The question is who will create that conflict, because sometimes it’s the kids being kids and trying to figure out their differences.

Like with all Netflix shows, this series will drop across the time zones. Are you wondering when you can watch it where you live? Here’s a breakdown of the time zone releases.

What to expect in Cobra Kai season 6 part 1

The season picks up with Daniel and Johnny now getting Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang ready for the Sekai Tournament. They will have help from antagonists of previous movies who are now on the side of Daniel and Johnny.

The end of season 5 did see Kreese escape from prison. He’s a wanted man, but he is also a man out for revenge. He’s sure to cause some trouble as he gets that revenge, especially since it’s not just Johnny and Daniel that he wants to get revenge on now.

The trailer for season 6 part 1 makes it clear that Cobra Kai is gone for good. At least, Terry Silver’s version of the dojo is gone for good, which is something Entertainment Weekly confirms. This dojo is never forever gone though, as we’ve seen when others have come in to reclaim the name.

Could Daniel and Johnny end up taking on the name? Probably not, but they will need to figure out a unified name as they also try to combine their styles. They are no longer two different dojos going up against each other, and this final season needs to shape that.

There are 15 episodes to the full season. The trailer notes that the first half comes out on Thursday, July 18 and then the second half comes out on Thursday, Nov. 22. There will be a third event that arrives in 2025 to say goodbye to this epic series.

Get ready for the beginning of the end on Thursday, July 18 on Netflix.
