Unfrosted soundtrack: Meghan Trainor, Frank Sinatra, and more songs from the movie
By Reed Gaudens
The Pop-Tart movie has finally arrive on Netflix! Jerry Seinfeld's feature directorial debut Unfrosted premiered on Netflix on May 3, and the comedy film features a who's who cast of comedy talents such as Melissa McCarthy, Hugh Grant, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, and so many other stars.
But it's the movie's soundtrack that will have you dancing in the aisles... er, dancing around your living room while watching the new Netflix original movie. Unfrosted has the bragging rights of boasting an original song from Grammy Award winning pop star Meghan Trainor and Jimmy Fallon, along with old school tracks that match the movie's 1960s setting.
Get all the details on the full Unfrosted soundtrack, including Trainor's banger of an ode to toaster pastries that you won't be able to get out of your head.
Meghan Trainor released a bop for Unfrosted
On April 12, well ahead of the May 3 release date of the movie, Meghan Trainor released her original song "Sweet Morning Heat," which features actor, comedian, and The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon singing with her. The duet is an upbeat pop song that's basically a love song for Pop-Tarts. So, it's technically a pop-tart song. It's super catchy, and you'll be singing right along!
"Sweet Morning Heat" was produced by Academy Award and Grammy Award winners Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, co-produced by the Picard Brothers, and written by Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, Jerry Seinfeld, Spike Feresten, Maxime Picard, Clément Picard, Meghan Trainor, and Jimmy Fallon. (Clearly, Seinfeld likely penned the lyrics alluding to the breakfast pastry.)

All of the songs featured in Unfrosted
One of the very first songs heard in the movie is Frank Sinatra's "It Was a Very Good Year," which plays during a very unserious "in memoriam" sequence for defunct cereals. Being set in the 1960s, Unfrosted contains various throwback songs in its scenes, such as "Wooly Bully" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," which is featured over a montage of recognizable cereals.

Apart from the songs, both new and old, heard throughout the movie, Christophe Beck also contributed a thrilling instrumental score full of horns and strings. It's the perfect accompaniment to the film's quirky and colorful tone and makes the movie that much more larger than life. From the throwbacks to the original song to the score, the soundtrack really helps tell the story.
