Don't mess with Jessica Alba! That's the main takeaway from the trailer for her upcoming Netflix action movie Trigger Warning. The streaming service dropped the official trailer on May 21, and though the movie already sounded good on paper, seeing Alba back in fighting form as an action hero has effectively increased excitement. Will this be the Netflix movie of the summer?!

Well, it's definitely in the running and very well could be among the biggest Netflix original movies this summer when it's released on Friday, June 21. It's released right smack in the middle of Bridgerton season 3 part 2 and That '90s Show part 2, so it's the perfect jolt of action in between the romantic drama series and the teen sitcom.

The trailer for Trigger Warning opens by explaining the premise: Alba stars as Parker, a woman who returns to her hometown when her father passes away. She meets with Senator Swann (Anthony Michael Hall), but he seemingly unsettles her. She soon believes her father's death wasn't an accident, and she's clearly onto something because she's warned: "Stay out of it."

But she doesn't stay out of it, and that's when we get action hero Jessica Alba in full force. The trailer previews a scene where Parker stops a robbery by fighting off the pair of thieves. She doesn't just fight them off... she truly kicks their butts. There's bones snapping, bodies flying through the air and crashing into glass counters, knives being drawn, and a chainsaw... well, you just have to see that for yourself.

The Night Agent star Gabriel Basso also appears in the movie and he's teased in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in the trailer, asking Parker, "So, what do you do for the government?" We then see some of her background as a Special Forces commando as Parker digs deeper into Senator Swann and the truth. Obviously, she discovers a bigger conspiracy than she imagined.

From the trailer alone, Trigger Warning looks to be the palatable summer action flick that's destined for big numbers and middling reviews. But the trailer reveals a compelling performance from Alba, a gripping (if not familiar) story, and high-octane action sequences sure to keep us on the edge of our seats. In short, I'm excited for a movie I wasn't expecting to be excited for all because of Jessica Alba.
